To Grieve or Not to Grieve What is the Problem

To Grieve or Not to Grieve
What is the Problem

If you need to grieve the lose of a loved one, pet, job or any other element that left your life abruptly, by all means, do what’s best for you. Often times, you feel like you are supposed to hold in your feelings of anger, sadness, happiness or acceptance. The stages of grief are unpredictable and individualized. Step #1 is to be familiar with the different ways grief can and will affect you, your life and others who support you.

Here are some normal but unusual reactions to grief:

#1 You are supposed to cry
Express your grief over a precious person, pet, item or event in the way that you need to. The objective is to get any feelings and emotions out that will hold you back from moving forward in life.

#2 You are supposed to be happy
Once again if you want to celebrate the transition of what you lost, GO AHEAD! Everyone grieves differently. Being happy doesn’t mean you loved any less than you do.

#3 You are supposed to move forward with ease
Being stuck is another symptom that grief can cause. Whatever and however long you need to process your life and what you need is your choice. Don’t be forced to move through your grief without setting realistic expectations for your next phase of life.
