3 Ways to Strike Out Past Mistakes
Twenty something years ago, I didn’t
view my life as a stepping stone that would boost me to my future success. When
experiencing trials and tribulations, the only thoughts that are reoccurring is
“why me?” and “please, let this be over soon”. Little did I know, those
mistakes were the gateways to opening unimaginable potentials.
So how can one get over the
devastation of past mistakes? Your willingness and openness to view past
mistakes as a blessing takes maturity of the mind, body and soul. Embrace the
journey in life rather it be good or bad. Remember that your experiences are
unique to you and no one can ever replicate or match the journey that you
travel.
Strike 1: Past mistakes
are lessons.
To truly
view your life from a positive perspective, think of any mistakes made as a
life lesson. School yourself based on the mistakes you have made in the past.
Over time unravel the mystery of what your mistakes teach you about life. Use
the testimony of your mistakes to know how to handle future occurrences.
Strike 2: Past mistakes build strength.
As the
saying goes, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”. Surviving the turmoil
of mistakes shows that you have developed stamina. If you can overcome the
mistakes that you have endured and are now able to steer yourself in the right
direction, strength is a trait that you surely possess. Use your strength (survival)
to defeat your weaknesses (past mistakes).
Strike 3: Past mistakes
guide your future decisions.
After your
past mistakes have kicked your life around awhile, it is time to make wiser
decisions. Past mistakes help with developing your decision making process.
Past mistakes should enlighten you about what “NOT” to do moving forward. Make
a resolve with yourself that your past mistakes will not be repeated. Past mistakes
can be a cycle of regrets and remorse. Change your life’s pathway into a linear
uplifting journey by making wiser decisions.
Well, you’ve had three strikes. Now you are out! You are out
of the past and making better strides towards the future you desire and
deserve. Past mistakes are a part of you forever, but it does not have to
define your future.
Past mistakes can be used as a positive motivator by teaching
you new ways to handle life. Overcoming mistakes made gives you the energy to
sustain future pains. It provides a blueprint to steer you away from repeated
mishaps.
