What Would You Give Up to Live Life on Your Terms?

What Would You Give Up to Live Life on Your Terms?

Life on your terms equals  >>>>

>>>>Calm instead of worry, fear and doubt

>>>>Bold decision making instead of having low confidence in your actions

>>>>A balanced life instead of neglecting some important areas you need to thrive

>>>>Focusing more on self-care instead of being a people pleaser

All of the above sounds like your dream life!

It’s easy to think that having all of those well- rounded components are impossible but NO you can thrive and survive when chaos seems to be your reality.

Let’s thrive and survive....

#1  Reframe the way you think about situations.

Positive thoughts produce positive results. Hanging around situations that leave your cup half empty is a bummer. Keep your outlook on life half full.

#2 Get a Mental Boost.

Read books that promote mental strength and  growth.

Training's are a great way to improve the skills you need to overcome lack.

Whatever you plant inside of your mind is what grows.

#3 Communicate with greats.

Socialize with people who have a track record of greatness. Of course it doesn’t have to be face to face but the more you immerse yourself around others who thrive, you will start implementing some of their same skills.

How Bullying Affects Mental Health

How Bullying Affects Mental Health

 Source: https://www.pexels.com/photo/alone-man-person-sadness-236151/

Mental health is a topical subject. Even though many people are ignorant about it, conversations about it are coming up both online and offline. One question that keeps coming is;

“Can bullying affect mental health?” Of course, it can!

Imagine being a victim every day. Whether it is for seven months or seven years or anything in between, frequent abuse is not something anyone can forget or get over quickly.

For most people, it stays with them for a long time, causing a ripple effect of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and lack of self-confidence.

You cannot underestimate the effects of bullying on emotional and mental well-being. These effects stay for a very long time. If you are being bullied, please speak out. If you are bullying someone, you need to stop now.

Proactive Actions Against Bullying

Take note of the following tips. They’ll help you against bullying:

1. Phrases like ‘toughen up’ does not work anymore. It is insensitive.

2. Honest and open conversations about bullying should be routine.

3. Write powerful affirmations and quotes for yourself, and put them in conspicuous places and use them to encourage yourself every day.

4. Establish a strong support system with your loved ones.

5. Bullying is not okay! It is not a normal thing.

6. Always know you are not alone.

7. Don’t be a bystander if you see someone being bullied, step in, and speak up assertively so you can overcome bullying.

8. Seek help.

If you are still suffering from the effects of bullying, please slow down. Don’t allow others to hurry your healing. It is a process. It may take years, occasionally even a lifetime and that’s okay.

Dealing With Self-Confidence When You’re Obese

Dealing With Self-Confidence When You’re Obese

https://www.pexels.com/photo/silver-and-gold-padlock-on-pink-surface-5842235/

Overweight and obese people are often criticized for being fat. You’ve probably heard hurtful words like: “You’re ugly, You eat too much, You’ll die young and We don’t have your size.” These words hurt your self-esteem, they can sometimes cause depression and you start slipping into bad eating habits.

There are days where you might hate yourself and you don’t like who you see in the mirror. You can’t continue drowning in the pool of self-hate and eating disorders forever. You have to face the world and embrace body positivity. Whether you want to start working out or eating healthy, you need to do so with confidence.

For a healthier and more realistic body image, you need to:

FIRST

Surround yourself with positive people. Be with people who motivate you and avoid those who consistently criticize and make fun of others. Their negative energy can rub off on you.

SECOND

Eat Healthily. Eating junk food is found to be one of the prime causes of obesity. Instead, load up on vegetables, fruits, whole grains and reduce your sugar intake.

THIRD

Exercise. Regular exercise does not only help you stay fit, but it will also improve your self-esteem. It releases happy chemicals in the brain that makes you feel good about yourself.

FOURTH

Focus on your positive traits. We tend to dwell more on our failures than successes. If you are unhappy with your size, body shape, or weight, shift your attention to other beautiful characteristics about you, your strengths, skills, and admirable qualities.

Body positivity is as simple as making the choice to love your body despite your shortcomings—to embrace your whole self and not let others dictate how you feel about your body – Paige Fieldsted

Uh-oh, Are You the Only One?

Uh-oh, Are You the Only One?

Have you ever heard of “the more the merrier”? Some agree with that notion…especially in regards to mental wellness. In some mental health scenarios, positive support is conductive to your well-being.

Harvard Business Review agrees that being the only causes anxiety.

Listen to the podcast -> -> -> The Anxiety of Being the “Only”

Let’s view the benefit of contradicting the only phenomenon. Think about the more, the crowded in a professional setting. And the more there is the less likely you will be to get the promotions, bonuses or vacation time you want. In most cases, saturation is a hindrance.

But when looking at the only through a positive lens, the only can mean unique. Being the only in the workplace can open opportunities you need to the promotion, vacations and bonuses of your dreams. Why? Because you can be the one who possess certain qualities that could possibly land the deal of a lifetime for a corporation. You will stand out because no Fortune 500 company wants ordinary.

Here’s to Boosting Your Only!

1.       Self-esteem
Let setbacks serve as comebacks. When you make a mistake, own it! Then correct it and move forward with the lesson learned. Not many are able to make it through the mistake.
2.       Self-Worth
Let the mistakes of others serve as validation that you are on the right track. Learn from others. Your self-worth lies within how others are fairly compared to you.
3.       Self-Love
Only focus on the only when you are connecting with your inner self. Your true identity is more than outside influences and circumstances. Treat yourself like you are the only one that matters without being selfish and conceited.

Because Love Doesn’t Hurt

Because Love Doesn’t Hurt

“But He/She didn’t hit me!” This cover up is the number one indicator that you ARE most likely in an abusive relationship. Abuse is more than physical assaults. You can be mistreated verbally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, sexually and more!

When is “GET OUT” the best option?

#1 Respect is violated. Know the rules to respect.
#2 The first time may be a mistake. The next time is no exception.
