3 Habits For Great Self-care

3 Habits For Great Self-care

The last thing on most people to do list is to take care of oneself. If you are a people pleaser you will most definitely have a problem with putting yourself as a priority. One thing that every individual should realize is that if you don’t take care of you, you most definitely will not be mentally, physically, spiritually or emotionally healthy to handle life’s challenges.

3 Tips to Practice Selfless Self-care

#1 Make self-care a part of your scheduled routines. Right along with work obligations, doctor appointments, and children’s appointments, put your destress time on the calendar also. If it’s already a part of your weekly routine, you will feel dedicated to completing it.

#2 Self-care should include mental pressure releases. Take care of your mind by removing it from overloaded and toxic thoughts that wear you down. Mental care routines can incorporate painting, journaling, or reading about pleasant and enjoyable things and topics.

#3 Declutter your life. Cleanse your life of negative and toxic people, living environments and food; then surround yourself with things that bring joy, laughter, and colorfully pleasant memories into your schema of self-care routines.

When you take care of yourself, your opportunity for success increases. Selfless self-care creates relaxing and bold steps of confidence because your thoughts and actions are less tense and stressed.

Your Self-Worth is Not Tied to Your Achievements

You compare your success and progress with others who you think are on the same level as you or a bit above you and it distressed you?
Is this you?
You are not your achievements. I bet you have never heard this before, so it might feel unusual.
No, don’t get it wrong; your achievements are great. In fact, they are awesome. You’ve been able to publish your first book, you’ve got that scholarship, and you just gave birth to your first child. All of these are huge achievements, but they are not you.
Do you know why?
We often tell ourselves and others “you are not your failures”. Why then should your achievements be the only source of your self-confidence? We are used to tying our self-worth to our achievements, and this is why we are always affected by a failure.
If you are not your failures and you are not your achievements,
Then who are you?
#1 You are an incredible person who chose Self-care, got values, grit, brilliance, and skills.
#2 When you know this, speak positive affirmations to yourself. Say I am the best; I will succeed, look into the mirror and say them with confidence.
#3 While it is okay to feel good about your achievements, basing your entire self-worth on your success is like building your house on a foundation that will soon crash.

So, sail from the safe harbor! Discover yourself. When you know who you are, and you believe in the magic of yourself, you will be able to experience peace and also maintain self-control through life’s inevitable good and bad times.

Look for Smooth Sailing!

Don’t Let Other’s Expectations Side Track You From Your 2020 Goals!

Don’t Let Other’s Expectations Side Track You From Your 2020 Goals!

Of course, quitting is always an option but do you want the results that quitting produces (nothing) or the results that being persistent produces (success)? Achieving goals are not a quick process so be persistent and celebrate each step that you are closer to your 2020 goals.

Others always expect you to lose... stats always predict the worst...

This is what others expect from you:

• 75% of people will abandon their 2020 goals by Feb 1st. :/
• 92% won't ever achieve them  :(
• 5.3B people in the world will give up on their goals in the next three weeks and 6.4B people will fail to achieve them in 2020.

But this is what you should expect:

• 100%  win, win, win
• 100% completion
• 110% hard work
• 0% quitter

Steps into WINS with these 3 tips:

#1 Be p o s i t i v e ! Stay focused on the wins, not the setbacks you experience to get there.

“Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.”
Vince Lombardi

#2 Be prepared! Completion of goals don’t just randomly happen. You have to intentionally plan out an action plan to attack your goals.

“The key is not the will to win… everybody has that.
It is the will to prepare to win that is important.”
Bobby Knight

#3  Be persistent. Winners never quit, they just change up their moves. If something is not working as planned, that’s not a failure. The next smart move is to change up the plan of action.

“I hated every minute of training, but I said,
‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”
Muhammad Ali

2020 is the Year of The Go- Getters.

Forget “13 Reasons Why” Try 3 Ways to Approach “The Suicide Talk”

Forget “13 Reasons Why” Try 3 Ways to Approach “The Suicide Talk”

Today the suicide rate of teens have increased drastically. According to USA Today (March 2018), “…suicidal thoughts and actions more than doubled from 2008 to 2015.” The mental health of youth is an important factor that needs to be addressed effectively and without shame.

I recently read an article that attributed the film and TV series “13 Reasons Why” to the increase of teen suicide. Realistically, the show cannot be the main contributing factor to the rise of teen suicide. The lack of sufficient and useful knowledge is the issue. It’s  time to look at how the conversation of suicide is approached.

#1 Research, Relate, Recite
The best way to talk about it is to know about it. The internet offers many reliable and credible sources to gain the knowledge you need about dealing with teen suicide. Try searching Amazon for some great books.

#2 Support and Success
Your local support groups and community resources can provide hope in a hopeless situation. Hearing others’ struggles and success stories can be very educational and eye opening to the reality of suicide and its effects. You can use Google to locate your nearest suicide support group. NAMI is another great community outreach resource. Remember if the first resource or support group does not fit your style, don’t give up, visit others until you find the right one.

#3 Do It The Professional Way
Don’t be ashamed to seek professional advice and guidance. Your local psychiatrist or therapist can give you the insight you need into suicide facts and prevention. The majority of EAPs and insurance will cover the fee for free. The sessions are confidential so don’t worry about who will know you attended a therapy session.

For immediate attention call the suicide prevention lifeline at
1-800-273-TALK (8255)

If you are bothered by approaching the topic of suicide let GMC take on the task that can save lives.

What to Do with Goals Galore

What to Do with Goals Galore

When is wanting everything out of life TOO much? Setting goals and going after all that you dream of and desire signifies a person who places no limits on what can be done. Once one goal is accomplished, it’s only normal to continue to the next goal. At the same time, continue to add more to your list of wants and desires.

If you stop setting goals because you have completed a few you have desired already, life becomes stagnant. Being stuck can lead to feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness. Some will argue that there is a thin line between being hedonistic (engaged in a self- indulgent pursuit of pleasure) and being success oriented.  Do you know the difference between living on
a hedonic treadmill versus climbing up the ladder of success?

Three ways to know you are on the right path to success>>>

#1 YOUR GOALS ARE PURPOSE DRIVEN

While having goals show you have a personal motive to succeed, if the goal serves a greater purpose, it is not being self- conceited. For example, even though doctors make a nice salary, you want to become a doctor to save the lives of indigent children.

#2 YOUR GOALS PLANT SEEDS OF SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR FAMILY

Money is not always everything, but being able to ensure your family is well taken care of is. The ability to afford life and medical insurance, college saving funds and food and shelter are essential elements to producing a fulfilling lifestyle.

#3 YOUR GOALS PROVIDE YOU THE CONFIDENCE TO CONTINUE BEING A GAME CHANGER IN YOUR COMMUNITY

True success come from thinking beyond yourself and family.  strong community to thrive in gives back a sense of value and success to a mass of people. Volunteering and giving donations to a good cause makes you feel good.

A feeling of HOPELESSNESS and WORTHLESSNESS causes symptoms of depression and creates isolation from the world. If you know someone struggling with setting goals that produce happiness and success, GINMAN CONSULTING is gladly accepting and appreciative of referrals.
