3 Habits For Great Self-care

3 Habits For Great Self-care

The last thing on most people to do list is to take care of oneself. If you are a people pleaser you will most definitely have a problem with putting yourself as a priority. One thing that every individual should realize is that if you don’t take care of you, you most definitely will not be mentally, physically, spiritually or emotionally healthy to handle life’s challenges.

3 Tips to Practice Selfless Self-care

#1 Make self-care a part of your scheduled routines. Right along with work obligations, doctor appointments, and children’s appointments, put your destress time on the calendar also. If it’s already a part of your weekly routine, you will feel dedicated to completing it.

#2 Self-care should include mental pressure releases. Take care of your mind by removing it from overloaded and toxic thoughts that wear you down. Mental care routines can incorporate painting, journaling, or reading about pleasant and enjoyable things and topics.

#3 Declutter your life. Cleanse your life of negative and toxic people, living environments and food; then surround yourself with things that bring joy, laughter, and colorfully pleasant memories into your schema of self-care routines.

When you take care of yourself, your opportunity for success increases. Selfless self-care creates relaxing and bold steps of confidence because your thoughts and actions are less tense and stressed.

What Would You Give Up to Live Life on Your Terms?

What Would You Give Up to Live Life on Your Terms?

Life on your terms equals  >>>>

>>>>Calm instead of worry, fear and doubt

>>>>Bold decision making instead of having low confidence in your actions

>>>>A balanced life instead of neglecting some important areas you need to thrive

>>>>Focusing more on self-care instead of being a people pleaser

All of the above sounds like your dream life!

It’s easy to think that having all of those well- rounded components are impossible but NO you can thrive and survive when chaos seems to be your reality.

Let’s thrive and survive....

#1  Reframe the way you think about situations.

Positive thoughts produce positive results. Hanging around situations that leave your cup half empty is a bummer. Keep your outlook on life half full.

#2 Get a Mental Boost.

Read books that promote mental strength and  growth.

Training's are a great way to improve the skills you need to overcome lack.

Whatever you plant inside of your mind is what grows.

#3 Communicate with greats.

Socialize with people who have a track record of greatness. Of course it doesn’t have to be face to face but the more you immerse yourself around others who thrive, you will start implementing some of their same skills.

How to Practice Self-Care

Practicing self-care does not require a lot of time and effort. It is about understanding what works for you. Some might prefer yoga, while others prefer going for a hike. The idea basically is indulging in those things that help you recuperate and maintain the inner balance and peace you need on your inside.

It is encouraged that you have a list of your favorite activities that help you improve your mood, reduce stress, and help you function optimally. Self-care is self-preservation. It helps boost your productivity, which in turn boosts your self-confidence.

Rather than react rashly on a stressful day, you could quickly go through your list of self-care activities and pick one that will help you reduce your stress at that moment, and ultimately help you stay calm amid the stress. Doing this results in you successfully practicing self-control during an uncontrollable situation.

How to Practice Self-Care

·         Practice routine exercise.

·         Practice healthy eating habits.

·         Surround yourself with healthy relationships.

·         Always ensure you have enough time to rest daily.

·         Create time to indulge in activities that make you happy.

·         Understand how your body works and plan your activities around it in order to boost productivity.

·         Say positive words to yourself in an unpalatable situation. This will boost your self-worth.

Amy Leigh Mercree said: “When we self-regulate well, we are better able to control the trajectory of our emotional lives and resulting actions based on our values and sense of purpose.”

So, practicing self-care is self-regulating your body and mind so that you can be the very best version of yourself in life. No one can do it for you; you have to rise and say no to losing your inner balance in the face of any challenging situation.

Why You Should Practice Self-Care

Why You Should Practice Self-Care

Source: https://www.pexels.com/photo/self-care-isn-t-selfish-signage-2821823/

Sam Owen said: “How we care for ourselves gives our brain messages that shape our self-worth, so we must care for ourselves in every way, every day.” This is why you should always practice self-care.

Self-care is an important way of relieving mental stress and building self-confidence. It is more than caring for your physical body; it also involves you paying adequate attention to your psychological and emotional well-being. The moment you are fine on the inside, everything on the outside would have to dance to the tune of what’s going on inside.

To adequately practice self-care, you should be aware of what satisfies your emotional needs; you should be aware of those things that you enjoy doing and those things that help you recuperate after a stressful day or activity. You have to understand yourself and how your body reacts amid crisis.

You should develop self-control in the face of any challenge and also, build your sense of worthiness. The moment your self-worth is thwarted, you cannot maintain your self-confidence, and ultimately, you lose your inner balance.

Self-care is comprehensive. It involves all things that help you maintain your health, reduce stress, and make you mentally fit.

Here are some germane reasons you should practice self-care:

·         It will help you boosts your self-esteem.

·         It will help you maintain healthy thoughts.

·         It will help you stay intrinsically motivated in the face of challenges.

·         It will boost your productivity and efficiency in all aspects of life.

·         It will help you maintain a good and healthy relationship with yourself and others.

Never allow anyone to make you feel like you are selfish when practicing self-care because self-care is not selfishness. When you do not practice self-care, you are actually robbing yourself and others around you of the joy of seeing the best version of you.

“It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary.” – Mandy Hale

Dealing With Self-Confidence When You’re Obese

Dealing With Self-Confidence When You’re Obese

https://www.pexels.com/photo/silver-and-gold-padlock-on-pink-surface-5842235/

Overweight and obese people are often criticized for being fat. You’ve probably heard hurtful words like: “You’re ugly, You eat too much, You’ll die young and We don’t have your size.” These words hurt your self-esteem, they can sometimes cause depression and you start slipping into bad eating habits.

There are days where you might hate yourself and you don’t like who you see in the mirror. You can’t continue drowning in the pool of self-hate and eating disorders forever. You have to face the world and embrace body positivity. Whether you want to start working out or eating healthy, you need to do so with confidence.

For a healthier and more realistic body image, you need to:

FIRST

Surround yourself with positive people. Be with people who motivate you and avoid those who consistently criticize and make fun of others. Their negative energy can rub off on you.

SECOND

Eat Healthily. Eating junk food is found to be one of the prime causes of obesity. Instead, load up on vegetables, fruits, whole grains and reduce your sugar intake.

THIRD

Exercise. Regular exercise does not only help you stay fit, but it will also improve your self-esteem. It releases happy chemicals in the brain that makes you feel good about yourself.

FOURTH

Focus on your positive traits. We tend to dwell more on our failures than successes. If you are unhappy with your size, body shape, or weight, shift your attention to other beautiful characteristics about you, your strengths, skills, and admirable qualities.

Body positivity is as simple as making the choice to love your body despite your shortcomings—to embrace your whole self and not let others dictate how you feel about your body – Paige Fieldsted

You! Yes, You! You Deserve All the Love

You! Yes, You! You Deserve All the Love

Why are you so uncomfortable about what makes you so powerful? For many people, the concept of self-love might bring up images of cheesy self-care books, or binge-watching your favorite series on Netflix. But as many psychologists attest, self-love and compassion are the keys to good health and mental well-being.
Most of the time when you are too hard on yourself, you need to know this; the persecutory inner voice that prevents you from celebrating your little wins and showing yourself a daily dose of self-love is the hallmark of perfectionism.

Use these four keys to improve on self-love:
#1 Self-Care
You deserve all the love and attention. It produces positive feelings and boosts your self-esteem. Taking care of yourself is also an important reminder to yourself and others that you and your needs are important.
#2 Self-Confidence
Embracing your self-confidence radiates a natural beauty that cannot be diluted or ignored. You need to love and celebrate yourself no matter what because even if you don’t fit into society’s standard, you are still awesome regardless. This is what makes you powerful, absolutely fearless, and comfortable in your skin.
#3 Self-Worth
Accepting the uniqueness of your self-worth is magical, and it starts with you. Whenever you have negative thoughts, turn them into positive affirmations. Say them with full conviction, and you will see changes in how you feel and act.
#4 Self-Control
Being in control is vital to achieving the goals you have set for yourself. It gives you inner strength and the ability to stick to your decisions.

Self-love is not being selfish. It is simply learning how to prioritize your happiness.

Your Self-Worth is Not Tied to Your Achievements

You compare your success and progress with others who you think are on the same level as you or a bit above you and it distressed you?
Is this you?
You are not your achievements. I bet you have never heard this before, so it might feel unusual.
No, don’t get it wrong; your achievements are great. In fact, they are awesome. You’ve been able to publish your first book, you’ve got that scholarship, and you just gave birth to your first child. All of these are huge achievements, but they are not you.
Do you know why?
We often tell ourselves and others “you are not your failures”. Why then should your achievements be the only source of your self-confidence? We are used to tying our self-worth to our achievements, and this is why we are always affected by a failure.
If you are not your failures and you are not your achievements,
Then who are you?
#1 You are an incredible person who chose Self-care, got values, grit, brilliance, and skills.
#2 When you know this, speak positive affirmations to yourself. Say I am the best; I will succeed, look into the mirror and say them with confidence.
#3 While it is okay to feel good about your achievements, basing your entire self-worth on your success is like building your house on a foundation that will soon crash.

So, sail from the safe harbor! Discover yourself. When you know who you are, and you believe in the magic of yourself, you will be able to experience peace and also maintain self-control through life’s inevitable good and bad times.
