Alcohol and Drugs Relapse

Alcohol and Drugs Relapse

What is Relapse?

Relapse occurs when an alcoholic or a drug user who has been abstaining from alcohol intake or drug use returns to taking these substances. The triggers that cause this relapse include:

#1 Rejection

#2 Depression

#3 Financial Problems

#4 Relationship Issues

#5 Work-Related Problems

#6 Emotional and Physical Stress

#7 Mental and Physical Health Issues

How to Prevent Relapse

Relapse doesn’t mean that you have failed; what you need to do is replace the habits with new ones by:

#1 Adopting a healthier lifestyle and behavior.

#2 Developing a good and healthy food diet.

#3 Building a positive self-image and self-control.

#4 Engaging in healthy activities—avoid boredom.

#5 Steering clear of people and places that trigger your substance use.

#6 Joining a strong support group and keeping a group of supportive friends and family.

If you have experienced a relapse or currently going through one, you don’t have to feel less of a human. Getting over a habit such as alcohol or drug abuse and turning a new leaf is a process. Don’t beat yourself up. Take courage, speak with people who can help you, and break off.

Attend therapy sessions, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, and stay accountable. It takes a lot of strong will and self-control to break off a habit, which is why you need to stay among a community of people who can be of great help to you.

Make sure you dig deep into why you relapsed and use that as a means of identifying your triggers so that you can avoid co-occurring disorders associated with substance abuse.

Holli Kenley said,

“Shame serves to fuel and feed relapse. Further relapse fuels and feeds shame.”

Do not allow fear or shame when you relapse; rather, stay accountable to those who can help you.

Shine Through Obedience

Shine Through Obedience

Blured text with focus on OBEDIENCE

You know you want to do what is right but it is hard to stay on course. Obedience means you have an inner nudge to do what you are supposed to do and you answer the request. Being submissive to your purpose is a struggle to most, partly because it is easier to do what's wrong than it is to do what's right. There are benefits to obedience!

The Rewards to Staying on Track:

#1 Long Term Success- Obedience blesses you with longevity of success. More money, jobs, and better health come to those who are committed to following  righteousness.

#2 Power in Every Step You Take- With obedience comes authority because others will witness your boldness and walk behind you. The more powerful you are, the more control you have.

#3 Joyful Life- A lot of the benefits of obedience are external. Internally, knowing you are doing what is right eliminates adversity within. You feel more confident, peaceful, and selfless when you are obedient to your purpose, relationships and most importantly to yourself.

You think obedience doesn't work? Give it a try and you will experience more favor than you have in a while. Are you not sure about what's right for you? Give GinMan a try!

Best Ways to Live a Seasonal Lifestyle

Best Ways to Live a Seasonal Lifestyle

Have you ever noticed that some people and situations are in your life for an extended amount of time while others are for a short amount of time? Interactions are seasonal for a reason. Understand the advantage of seasonal living and use it to benefit your path to success.

Relationships and situations become toxic when you try to hold on to them when it’s time to let go. Before the bond turns toxic, there are ways to determine how long relationships and situations should last to your advantage. The #1 key is to be open- minded enough to be proactive.

Practice Living a Seasonal Lifestyle

·      Determine long term seasons vs. short term seasons. When a person and situation is no longer relevant to your current purpose or goals, the season has ended. A season ends when the relationship or situation can no longer be supportive and inspirational.
·      Seasons come in cycles. In the winter leaves fall, in the spring leaves bloom again. Relationships and situations come and go. Be comfortable and confident with determining when situations and relationships are in blooming in season.
·      Season lifestyles bring clarity and guidance towards your success. When situations and people are currently relevant to your life, the connections help to successfully fulfill your goals and purpose. Use positive connections to produce your best results.

It is absolutely okay to let go of relationships and situations that are no longer beneficial for a certain season of your life. Ending seasonal relationships and situations does not mean you have to totally disconnect or that the season will not come back around. It simply means that right now at this point in your life, another focus is more beneficial to success.

Ready, Set, Go Be a Go- Getter!

Ready, Set, Go Be a Go- Getter!

Do you have what it takes to win? Or do you give up with a loss? The fine line between being a winner and being a loser is the effort and mindset you have behind every task and goal you pursue.

Getting what you desire and deserve requires a Go- Getter Mind Set. A go- getter mindset means you go to any measure and utilize any means possible to get it. It doesn’t mean that mistakes don’t happen, or you won’t get tired. It means if you don’t know what to do to get what you want, you figure out how.

Go- Getter Mind Set Tip #1:
With everything you do, do it with persistence. Never give up on going for what you want. Sometimes setbacks are inevitable but a go- getter jumps over the hurdle and continues to the finish line. Getting up from a knock out takes boldness. To keep going requires strength. Both boldness and strength are inherently within you. Bring them out to the forefront of your challenge and use them.

Go- Getter Mind Set Tip #2:
Before you go after you desire, it is a wise idea to set some goals. Don’t develop just any goals. Make them S.M.A.R.T. goals. What does it take to make your goals SMART? Be SPECIFIC about exactly what you are trying to accomplish. Make goals MEASURABLE so that you can monitor progress or lack of progress. (Don’t forget to make appropriate adjustments to your goals based on your self- assessment). Next you need lights, cameras and take ACTION STEPS to reach your goals. And be REAL when creating the steps to being a go- getter. Finally, set a TIME LIMIT to making the progress required to success. Goals can be achieved baby step by baby step but still set limits to monitor your commitment and progress.

The building point of a go- getter mindset is that winners win and losers lose. Go- getters do not sit back and accept failure. No matter what, keep pushing through any and all challenges that block your way to success. Success is the only option.
