Your Attention is the Lifeline of Suicide Prevention

Your Attention is the Lifeline of Suicide Prevention

If you never had to experience the harsh reality of someone taking their own life, this week is the perfect opportunity to educate yourself. Even if you have not had a suicide experience, knowledge is essential. Suicide is very prominent in today’s society. Know the signs and some tips to get assistance is KEY to fighting such a tragic loss of life.

Since the tragic suicide of my own mother in 1994, I have come to the realization that knowing the warning sign is not enough. You have to know how to actively and successfully rescue a person who is so depressed and feeling hopeless that death is the only possible answer.

In observance of suicide prevention week (last week), here are some simple tips to help you or anyone you may suspect as suicidal get the guidance and strength to overcome the thoughts and temptations of suicide.

#1 Talk is NOT cheap when it comes to talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself. When this experience happens, cling to the person to make them feel loved and important to you, family and life. If it’s said don’t ignore, thinking it will go away. It is REAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS!

Call the suicide lifeline at 1 800 273 TALK (8255)

#2 There is no predictable pattern when someone wants to end their life. Warning signs are clues to act, but no warning signs is the same for everyone or on certain days. Suicidal actions can be quick or progressive over time. You never know. Action is KEY.

#3 Don’t panic and make the person feel awkward or strange for having feelings about death. The person probably already feels hopeless and worthless for wanting death. REMAIN CALM AND SEEK PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE.

Don’t ignore the need for therapy or counseling to work through whatever issue you may think is bigger than you. Your life is more important than any issue.

You Are Missing Out on Support: Addiction in Isolation

You Are Missing Out on Support: Addiction in Isolation

COVID-19 has many in isolation from normal everyday activities. Life of freedom to move around and participate in events such as concerts, travel, movie theaters, doctor appointments and much more will never feel the same as before. Life as we know it now is very secluded.
Seclusion means that positive coping strategies for life stressors are hard to implement while in isolation. Addictions are a much easily accessible means to dealing with life stressors. Online resources to m a n a g i n g the stressors that cause addiction is best alternative to almost extinct daily activities.

If you have been living in isolation try various online resources for social interactions and activities.

#1 Peer Support
It’s always good to be able to connect to others who can relate to your addiction causing situation. Since face to face isn’t the healthiest option right now, try some online communities. There are a variety of AA or NA online support. Try some Facebook communities for positive support. Google search for a peer support group that fits your needs.

#2 Family Support
Sometimes more intimacy is desired to express any addictive stressors or concerns. It may not be a good idea to pop up at a relatives house because of COVID isolation. Use electronic resources such as Facetime, Zoom or Duo to connect face to face virtually.

#3 Therapeutic Support
Now more than ever, therapy is beneficial to help manage stressors that cause addictive behaviors. Therapy offices and clinics may be temporarily unavailable but telehealth has reached a new height for being the norm for therapy sessions.

Don’t let COVID isolation get the best of you and turn your life upside down.
Not having social interactions and activities can be a detrimental factor in the escalation of addictive behaviors.
Take a better route and connect virtually!

If you need direction or assistance on
making positive virtual connections,

Three Instant New You, New Attitude Boosters

Three Instant New You, New Attitude Boosters

In the mist of R. Kelly’s sexual inappropriateness and recent broadcasted show, have the survivors been offered the opportunities to build a new life. Hopefully, the survivors were offered therapy or mentoring to help renew their outlook on life. It does take time, patience, and action steps to develop a new you for a new life.
A new attitude about you and your life can improve motivation and confidence (two characteristics the survivors of R. Kelly obviously lacked)

Use these three keys to break into a new you attitude.

#1 Goals Galore: Have a meaningful purpose to connect your goals to. The greater your goals, the greater your inner drive will be to complete the goals.

#2 Above and Beyond: Never be content with what you are currently achieving. Never expect someone else to measure or predict your own level of expectations and achievements.

#3 Sincere Supports: Seek out and surround yourself with people who genuinely want to see you win. Manipulative individuals who are miserable will seek others they can dominate and step on.

Ladies, there is a new coaching program just for you.
The program can guide you into becoming a m o r e proficient, professional woman.

Shine Through Obedience

Shine Through Obedience

Blured text with focus on OBEDIENCE

You know you want to do what is right but it is hard to stay on course. Obedience means you have an inner nudge to do what you are supposed to do and you answer the request. Being submissive to your purpose is a struggle to most, partly because it is easier to do what's wrong than it is to do what's right. There are benefits to obedience!

Good Vs Bad Habits Change Actions Foot Stomping Words 3d Illustration

The Rewards to Staying on Track:

#1 Long Term Success- Obedience blesses you with longevity of success. More money, jobs, and better health come to those who are committed to following  righteousness.

#2 Power in Every Step You Take- With obedience comes authority because others will witness your boldness and walk behind you. The more powerful you are, the more control you have.

#3 Joyful Life- A lot of the benefits of obedience are external. Internally, knowing you are doing what is right eliminates adversity within. You feel more confident, peaceful, and selfless when you are obedient to your purpose, relationships and most importantly to yourself.

You think obedience doesn't work? Give it a try and you will experience more favor than you have in a while. Are you not sure about what's right for you? Give GinMan a try!

Struggling with obedience? These goal setting tips will assist you with knowing what you need on your journey.

What to Do with Goals Galore

What to Do with Goals Galore

When is wanting everything out of life TOO much? Setting goals and going after all that you dream of and desire signifies a person who places no limits on what can be done. Once one goal is accomplished, it’s only normal to continue to the next goal. At the same time, continue to add more to your list of wants and desires.

If you stop setting goals because you have completed a few you have desired already, life becomes stagnant. Being stuck can lead to feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness. Some will argue that there is a thin line between being hedonistic (engaged in a self- indulgent pursuit of pleasure) and being success oriented.  Do you know the difference between living on
a hedonic treadmill versus climbing up the ladder of success?

Three ways to know you are on the right path to success>>>

#1 YOUR GOALS ARE PURPOSE DRIVEN

While having goals show you have a personal motive to succeed, if the goal serves a greater purpose, it is not being self- conceited. For example, even though doctors make a nice salary, you want to become a doctor to save the lives of indigent children.

#2 YOUR GOALS PLANT SEEDS OF SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR FAMILY

Money is not always everything, but being able to ensure your family is well taken care of is. The ability to afford life and medical insurance, college saving funds and food and shelter are essential elements to producing a fulfilling lifestyle.

#3 YOUR GOALS PROVIDE YOU THE CONFIDENCE TO CONTINUE BEING A GAME CHANGER IN YOUR COMMUNITY

True success come from thinking beyond yourself and family.  strong community to thrive in gives back a sense of value and success to a mass of people. Volunteering and giving donations to a good cause makes you feel good.

A feeling of HOPELESSNESS and WORTHLESSNESS causes symptoms of depression and creates isolation from the world. If you know someone struggling with setting goals that produce happiness and success, GINMAN CONSULTING is gladly accepting and appreciative of referrals.

When the New Year is Old News

When the New Year is Old News

Happy New Year! It’s a rejoicing moment when you know that the new year is a time to begin new things. But guess what, that tradition of making new year’s resolutions is so OLD. Why do you have to wait for the new year to start transforming your life?
Every day, every week, every month should be your opportunity to evaluate yourself and your life to make adjustments that are needed for success and happiness. The truth of the matter is if you wait for several months until New Year to get it together, it will be so far- fetched that it will take a lot of strength and effort to get on track. That’s why New Year’s resolutions fail. You have waited too long to decide to make a change.
Stop waiting for a New Year to transition into a new life. Here are some steps to make regular tune ups of yourself and your life versus waiting several months to begin.

KEY #1: GOALS ARE GOLDEN
Short term goals ultimately lead to the accomplishment of long term goals. Don’t wait for the New Year to have your golden moment. Make every day, every week, and every month phenomenal.

KEY #2: NO PLAN= NO PROGRESS
Plan and schedule weekly evaluations on your progress towards your goals. In order to stay on track with any goal or resolution, it’s important to regularly look at one’s self and life to determine what and how to move forward.

KEY #3: ADJUSTMENTS
Make it a routine part of life to make the necessary adjustments. No one said change was easy, fast or simple. If you commit to making change a normal behavior in your life, it will soon become effortless.

OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH A NEW LIFE needs to be a reoccurring them throughout your daily interactions. If you are stuck with the old and desire a new way of thinking about yourself and your life, PLEASE contact GinMan Consulting for an initial assessment.
